LOS ANGELES, Calif., November 8, 2007 - Craftsman Custom Metals, a manufacture of highly-engineered fabricated and machined parts, today announced that CEO Julio Gesklin, named by the Hispanic Business magazine as a finalist for the publications Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Gesklin was an executive chosen from the nominees for the category of Heavy Industry. Announcement of the finalists and honorees was made at the 17th annual EOY Gala on November 8th at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Los Angeles.

This annual EOY Award celebrates entrepreneurial excellence in the U.S. Hispanic market. The EOY is Hispanic Business magazines award to the individual it finds to be the entrepreneur of the year. Attended by luminaries from the worlds of government, business, and academia, Hispanic Business magazine’s EOY Awards is dedicated to celebrating the successes of U.S. Hispanic entrepreneurs in five major categories: Heavy Industry, Infobusiness, Latina, Rising Star, and Trade Industry.

Gesklin was nominated for the award for his work and dedication to Craftsman Custom Metals, its employees and to the community.

Gesklin has been responsible for re-engineering the capabilities of CCM to concentrate on low-volume, highly engineered products as well as integration and assembly. Utilizing the concept of cellular manufacturing combined with long-term dedicated employees who understand the customer’s needs, CCM is a growing, 90-employee company with 2006 sales of $13 million.

Gesklin, who earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Argentina’s university of Buenos Aires, moved to Chicago in 1968 where he began his career in the fabrication, stamping and machining.
