But when the company expanded in the 1990s, it increasingly became involved in part design, production, and assembly of such medical devices and equipment as blood analyzers, plasma extractors, bone marrow disposer stands, sterilization tanks, and patient-monitoring systems.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., November 8, 2007 - Craftsman Custom Metals, a manufacture of highly-engineered fabricated and machined parts, today announced that CEO Julio Gesklin, named by the Hispanic Business magazine as a finalist for the publications Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Gesklin was an executive chosen from the nominees for the category of Heavy Industry.



Medical Instrumentation

A major player in the Medical Instrumentation Industry had a very complex product line with over 765 part numbers. Their first objective was to identify a more effective process in which to manage the large number of parts, reduce inventory levels and reduce lead-times to their customer base. A second objective was to identify a better process of control when programs went into the end of life phase. Finally, they were looking to consolidate their vendor base but were having difficulty identifying a supplier that could meet all of their needs.
